The National Energy Chamber (NEC) organizes an international conference entitled “Electricity Market Liberalization – Bulgaria in SEE and EU Context“, planned for May 16-17, 2017 in Sofia. The event is organized with the support of the Energy Management Institute (EMI) and it will be attended by numerous respected people from the energy business and the European institutions. Participation in the forum was confirmed by Alberto Pototschnig, Director of ACER (Agency for Cooperation of the Energy Regulators), by Mr. Janez Kopač, Director of Energy Community Secretariat, by Mr. Kristian Ruby, Secretary General of EURELECTRIC, by Prof. Pippo Ranci, Principal Advisor of the Florence School of Regulation, by Mr. Antony Thompson, the World Bank Country Manager for Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, by Mr. Stephan Woodhouse from Pöyry Management Consulting, United Kingdom, by Mr. Fabien Roques, Senior Vice President of Compass Lexecon Paris Office, by Mr. Ivan Ivanov, the Chairperson of the Bulgarian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission.
The Conference entitled “Electricity Market Liberalization – Bulgaria in South East Europe and EU Context” will be a high profile forum to discuss the undertaken and upcoming steps and thus supporting the development of the energy sector in Bulgaria in the context of SEE and EU energy policy. The state of play of the market liberalization on the ground of the accumulated practice, the challenges ahead the states and the business as well as the social dimension of the reforms will be the core of the debate. The event will be structured in three panels – the first one will focus on the main views from energy policy perspective, the second one will reflect the practical evaluation by the business and the NGOs, while the third one will target the next steps also in the context of the social aspects of the reforms.
